Lots of exciting things going on at Scrappin’ Around the World!

Today is the first day of summer here in Australia… Yes, I know that it is December 1st… but it is still summer here… I am really struggling to find my Christmas spirit!  I know if must be buried somewhere in there, but I think it must be due to the weather!  My body just can’t seem to adjust to the fact that for 35+ years, Christmas was during the coldest months of the year and now I expect it to accept it to be holly jolly during 100+ degree weather… It’s just not happening!

So….. I mentioned the other day that we have an awesome mini-kit up for grabs by the amazing @Jacquies!  Well, I thought you might want to see a preview of it!!  Can’t hurt to see what you are missing out on, you know?!?!  Everytime that I look at this preview, I feel a little bit cooler and a little bit jollier!  Gotta love that! 

All you have to do to receive this beautiful mini-kit for free is go to Scrappin’ Around the World, register an account with us, and then leave a post in the RAK forum with your user name so that we can PM you the link to download the kit… Easy peasy! 

 

Now, we decided not to waste any time, and we have thrown down the gauntlet to test your skills!  We have three challenges up for the month of December and are quite excited about them!  The first is an amazing Holiday Word Art Challenge sponsored by the awesome Jacquie!  Get to the site, download the below word art, and create a layout with it!  Then post it for us to see and go gaga over!

The next gauntlet is for our hybrid fans!  It is to go to the site, print out the following artwork, and do whatever you wish to it, and then use it in a card somehow!

And last, but not least, is my very own template challenge… the first… I have always wanted to learn to create templates… so I have taken it upon myself to learn… and what better way to do so than to create a challenge!  So for this challenge, you get to head to the site, download the free template, and use it in a digital layout, paper layout, card, or whatever other sort of project you see fit!  Here is the template that you will use and below it I will show you the layout I created with it!

I Am Back and Have Some Very Exciting News!

Well, I have been very remiss in my blogging over the last 6 months…  OK, not just my blogging… my scrapping too…  I really lost my mojo for a while… Have had some personal stuff that I have been going through, and needed to deal with it… but I am back with a vengeance and will have some fresh new layouts for you shortly! 

In the meantime, because my Dutchie friend Jacquie and I have been feeling so lost since the closing of our favourite store – Misses BeeHaven, where we enjoyed blowing up the forums together on a regular basis, Jacquie suggested to me that she and I create a Digital Scrappin’ Community of our own… We have been working on this, and VOILA!  Scrappin’ Around The World was born! 
We are offering new members a beautiful Christmas mini kit from @Jacquies FREE, just for registering!  All you have to do is post your username in the RAK thread and you will be sent the link to download the kit! 

We hope this community will be a lively, fun community for digital, hybrid, and paper scrappers and crafters alike!  It will be a place to come together and share ideas, tips, tricks, and a safe place to ask questions… And most importantly, a great place to make friends all around the world as Jacquie and I have done!

Come and Join Me in the Birthday Bash Colour Challenge at Misses BeeHaven! Everyone Wins!

 

Come join me and get creative with my colour challenge.

I challenge you to create a scrapbook layout that is made primarily in the colours of the swatch attached to this message.

The challenge is to use at least two of the colours from the swatch to create your layout and also include this week’s theme in your scrapbook page.

Your scrapbook page layout theme this month is: “It’s Your Day!”

You may choose to use varying shades of the two or more colours you have chosen from this month’s colour swatch.

Don’t forget to check out which lucky layout creations from the challenge submissions that I select to be in our Challenge spotlight, you will receive a bonus honey point towards your next month total.

Here is what you need to do:

1. Download the colour swatch provided and make a scrapbook page using at least two colours from the swatch.

2. Your scrapbook page must include the theme in some way such as in the paper, title, journaling, embellishment etc.

3. The layout can be created using scrapbook items of either your own creations or other designers’ work, and must include at least one photo. Please be sure to give the appropriate credit for both kits and fonts.
